Since 2019, Carla Olson and I have worked as a two-person team to produce a series of short documentary-style profiles for the BC Achievement Awards—a prestigious provincial honour that celebrates artistic excellence, innovation, and accomplishment across British Columbia.

Each year, we travel across the province to film award-winning artists in their studios and creative spaces. Our intimate approach allows viewers to step inside the creative process—seeing not just the work, but the passion and place behind it. These stories showcase how living and working in BC has shaped and sustained each artist’s practice.

From sculptors and designers to luthiers and makers, these mini-documentaries reflect the cultural depth and diversity of British Columbia’s creative community. The videos are featured in the BC Achievement Foundation’s public programming and award ceremonies, helping bring greater visibility to the province’s most inspiring creators.
